Vessel of Hatred, the latest expansion for Diablo 4, promises to bring with it many exciting changes to this dungeon crawler game. One such change is Runewords; socketable diablo 4 items with powerful bonus stats. They come both regular and legendary rarities to suit every build.

While I appreciate the addition of diablo 4 runewords to the game and their versatility in your builds, something about them does not sit right with me. Particularly their lack of fixed set affixes annoys me; having some permanent ones would have given these diablo 4 items more meaning and made them much more valuable.
Ending on a positive note, it's admirable that Diablo 4 developers continue to release content and give players more options for their characters; but for these new items to truly thrive in Diablo 4, they need to provide more than simply another version of existing skills; otherwise they'll just become part of yesterday's content after just a few seasons spent fighting through bosses and grinding for rewards.
If developers can address that, they may avoid some of the harsh criticism for this expansion and receive positive responses from players. I hope they read our feedback and adjust drop rates of these diablo 4 items so that people don't spend forever grinding for them or complaining about boss runs that last too long.
